Fountain Kinetics'
History
In 2003 Fountain Kinetics, an offshoot of
Armchair World was formed with the aims of 1)
developing kinetic water-based art fountains and water features, 2) developing
consumer and industry-based products, and 3) developing and patenting
technology for licensing.
From 1995 through 2006 as
Fountains by Armchair World we designed and
fabricated a large number of indoor art fountains and designer fountains which
were sold directly to the public, through art gallery venues throughout the
continental United States and Hawaii, and in retail venues such as the
Discovery Channel stores.
Parent company
Armchair World was co-founded in 1995 by Gary Fisher
and Lisa Thompson. The company has a diffuse business model that covers a
variety of areas ranging from cuisine to travel. In October 2006 Fountain
Kinetics split from Armchair World and is now a division of
ArtSciDesign, LLC - a company formed by Gary to
merge engineering, science, and design into consumer-based products. Gary is no
longer a part of Armchair World.
