The water bell display you are viewing is
responding to Hungarian-born pianist Sari Biro's interpretation of
Pick-Mangiagalli's 'Danse d'Olaf. (excerpt) Sari was one of the pre-eminent
classical pianists of the 20th Century. In addition to performance, she had the
innate ability to express the utmost subtlety in a musical passage in words,
metaphor and pianistic example so that her master students could better
understand the composer's intent. Musicologist Maria Watts wrote a tribute to
her in 1996 which you can read here.
